Frequently Asked  Questions

This may be your first big event and of course you want it to run as smoothly as possible; that's our goal too! You may have a lot of questions about your entertainment, we are here to answer any concerns you might have and put your mind at ease so you can just enjoy your special day.

We have organised and performed at hundreds of events so you can rest assured you are in good, professional hands!

How do I make a booking?

Just send us the details of your event via the contact form on the contact us page and we will provide you with a quote within 48 hours. From there, a $200 deposit is required to secure your booking.

Alternatively, you can call Mane Events on 0439 851 002 to request a quote and lock in your date and DJ.

How do we pay Mane Events?

Payment is made by transfer after sharing a formal quote, but cash payment on the day if you prefer is fine. We will supply our account details by email.

A deposit  of $200 is required at least 2 weeks before your event to secure your booking and your DJ.

Can we obtain an invoice?

We can certainly provide an invoice. If you require an invoice please let us know and we will arrange for this to be sent out a few days after the function.

Can you supply extra equipment and bigger packages if needed?

We aim to cater for any function of any size. If requested before a quote is given we can provide additional lighting, disco balls, larger sound systems, spotlights, lasers, bubble machines, etc.  If you have any special requirements please let us know when making your initial enquiry.

Can we supply our own music to the DJ?

Yes, if there is specific music you require on the night you can bring them in for the DJ on a CD. We try our best to have all the music ready for the night, any requests for music genres or songs can be noted in an email and we will do our best to accommodate.

Can we extend our time on the night?

This will be up to the DJ on the night. All Mane Events DJs also play in clubs and therefore might not be available to continue playing due to prior commitments. However, be assured they will do everything they can to play longer and make sure you and your guests are having a great time.

If the DJ can play overtime the rate is $50 every half hour and will need to be paid to the DJ on the night before the overtime begins.

How will the DJ be dressed?

Our DJs are extremely professional and will be dressed in appropriate attire for the function. For example, for weddings the DJ will come in black pants, black shoes and a buttoned up shirt. For more casual functions the DJ will dress in neat casual attire. If you have any specific dress code requirements or if the party has a theme just let us know beforehand (this will also be important for the music).

How do I know the DJ will be suitable for my event?

Our DJs have all been playing for many years and have performed to every type of crowd. As well as playing in some of Newcastle’s best nightclubs, they have also played hundreds of private gigs and all have experience at DJing at weddings, formals, fashion parades, birthdays etc.

Every DJ has a wide selection of music from the 60s through to now, as well as the latest commercial hits, club music, typical wedding music, lounge and hip hop. Any specific song requirements should be noted when requesting a quote.

What sort of lighting does Mane Events use?

We use professional intelligent club lighting as opposed to regular chasers and traffic light style boxes. We understand lighting is essential to create a great party atmosphere and we are constantly updating and adding to our disco lighting selection. You can be sure that the lighting we supply will be suitable for your event size.

How long does the DJ play for?

Our Professional DJ & Lighting package is booked on an hourly basis. All gigs are different and, based on experience, we find it easier not to lock certain packages into a time frame. You can book our DJs for as long as you need for your event.

How far in advance do we need to book a DJ?

This depends on availability. For a wedding you may like to book us in up to a year in advance, and that is fine. If you need a DJ at short notice, even if it is just 24 hours in advance, please feel free to call us and we will try our best to look after you.
